  • Neck/Back pain is one of the most common reasons why people seek out care. It can be frustrating to manage and debilitating for the person experiencing it.

The good news however, is that most neck/back pain is self limiting and highly treatable with the right interventions. We use an individualized, evidence-based approach to treat your neck/low back pain, and NEVER dole out cookie cutter programs. Every individual is given a unique treatment plan, which makes for a QUICKER and more EFFICIENT recovery.

  • CrossFit injuries can occur when an athlete does not have the prerequisite mobility, strength, or endurance to execute a particular movement properly. Because many CrossFit WODs involve moving with speed, it can be hard for athletes or coaches to spot compensatory movement patterns during the workout itself. Thus, it is critical to observe these movements in slo-motion (via video recording) so that a movement analysis can be performed. This process will shed light on movement faults / compensatory movement patterns that may be contributing to the athletes complaints.

  • Most insurance companies stop paying for physical therapy after 4-6 months, which leaves many athletes at a loss on how to progress themselves to their prior level of function and beyond. We know from robust research that ACL recovery takes upwards to a year. In fact, research shows that for most athletes, return to running should not happen earlier than 9 months. Most of the β€œmagic” that happens with ACL rehab actually occurs between 6-12 months after surgery. During this stage of recovery, focus should be on optimizing your ability to accelerate, decelerate, cut, pivot, jump, explode, and all the other things that athletes need to do on the field to PERFORM.

  • Because of the repetitive nature of running, runners are predisposed to many forms of overuse injuries. Think tendinitis/tendinopathy, IT-Band syndrome, sprains/strains, foot/ankle injuries, etc.

It is absolutely ESSENTIAL for runners to engage in purposeful strength training. Having a strong trunk/pelvis protects runners from many of the over-use injuries that plague the running community, and will have you running faster and for longer than ever before!

  • Surgery is only a small portion of the recovery process. While most surgeries can be completed within a day (some as short as 30 minutes), rehab takes much longer, up to a year.

Our philosophy involves motivating our clients to take ownership of their recovery process. Many PTs will prescribe a laundry-list of exercises without ever explaining to you what the purpose of each exercise is. This is counter-productive. We believe that in order for rehab to be successful, an individual should have a FIRM understanding of what their problem is, and how each exercise/intervention prescribed to them is helping them.
